Zenline AI is

building AI agents to find the perfect assortment for every retailer. We are looking for an exceptional AI engineer with 24 years of experience to support the development of our AI product. Youll be joining a team of hard-working engineers (ETH, Cambridge & KIT alumni), who are obsessed with helping retailers make better product decisions. The role is based in Zurich we're happy to discuss your relocation.

Zenline AI enables

... category teams in retail to take faster, more profitable assortment decisions with AI that delivers actionable recommendations. Having the right products in the right place is a retailer's most crucial decision, yet it's still done manually without data-driven insights. We build agents that integrate internal metrics with external signals from shoppers and competitors to highlight what truly matters: which products to launch, delist, or include in the next promotion cycle.

The Role...

... is a full-time on-site role for an exceptional AI Engineer in Zurich.

• Develop AI Solutions: Design and implement sophisticated AI models and LLM pipelines that transform complex retail data (internal and external data) into actionable insights, reducing analysis time from months to seconds.
• Drive Innovation: Work closely with category managers to understand their challenges and develop AI-powered solutions. You'll need to deeply understand both user needs and cutting-edge AI capabilities.
• End-to-End AI Development: Build and optimize AI/ML pipelines, develop LLM-powered features, and create intelligent systems that deliver data-driven business recommendations.
• Shape Zenline's AI Future: Work directly with the founders to build and strengthen our competitive MOAT through innovative AI solutions. You'll be responsible for developing unique data pipelines and AI architectures that create significant barriers to entry for competitors.

We are looking for...

• Experience: 34 years developing and deploying production-ready AI/ML solutions with a focus on real-world business applications.
• AI Expertise: Strong background in implementing LLMs, designing ML pipelines, and optimizing AI models for production environments.
• Passion & Innovation: Comfortable pushing the boundaries of AI capabilities in an fast-paced environment.
• Bonus Points: Understanding of retail metrics and business concepts like profit & loss statements and balance sheets.
